Community Wayfinding
Established in 2003, Avia Design Group has been a stretegic partner of ours since 2013 in the development of community wayfinding programs. Together, we have provided comprehensive design services, including wayfinding strategy, brand identities, advertising campaigns, and tourism videos conceived through strategic research and propelled through a high level of design excellence.
Our experience includes the development of more than 60 community programs and served clients in 43 states, and Canada. Our strength comes, in part, from the trusted relationships we establish with our clients and strategic partners.
A Strategic Approach to Wayfinding
We take a strategic approach to wayfinding and consider all the visual cues, visitor expectations, impediments, mixed messages, and distractions that affect wayfinding.
Gulf Shores, Alabama
Following the comprehensive branding initiative, a regional wayfinding program was designed that included a comprehensive package of elements from gateway signage to streetscape banners.
Stevens Point, Wisconsin
Stevens Point is situated on the banks of the Wisconsin River, and is home to UW Stevens Point, The Riverfront Arts Center, SentryWorld Golf Course, the Wisconsin Children’s Museum, and a historic downtown featuring 13 murals that we turned into an opportunity for visitors to explore.
Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin
Downtown Sturgeon Bay sits on either side of the bay, effectively dividing it in half. Knowing which side to park your car was a critical step in wayfinding for visitors..
Canmore, Alberta
In support a new brand for the Town of Canmore, Alberta, we created a set of highly distinct gateways, vehicle guides and pedestrian guides that look right at home in the Rocky Mountains.
